Macario Giraldo, USA

I am originally from Colombia, South America, the ninth of ten children, born in 1933 in a small tenant farm in the Andes of Colombia. From age 10 to age 33 I spent my life in a catholic religious order, “Les Freres des Ecoles Chretiens ” or La Salle Brothers. I became a teacher and taught math and languages. I left the Order in 1968, married and have three children and five grandchildren I earned a Fulbright fellowship to come to the US in 1961, and obtained a master’s in Applied Linguistics at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. in 1964. I obtained a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology at Catholic University, Washington, D.C. in 1972. I did post-graduate training at The Washington School of Psychiatry in individual and group psychotherapy.
