Dr. Hanan El-Mazahy originally trained as a pediatrician sub specializing in Pediatric neurology and completed a Master’s degree in pediatrics in 2006, she then moved into the area of child and adolescent psychotherapy earning a PhD in Mental Health in 2016 and is now a fellow of the American Board of Medical Psychotherapists. She is currently in private practice in Alexandria, Egypt. Dr. El-Mazahy is the former head of the Child section of the Egyptian Association for Group Therapy and Processes EAGT. She has been involved in community work and trainings on child protection and is a licensed child protection trainer. She has presented nationally, regionally and internationally on child and adolescent psychotherapy. Her psychotherapeutic interests include child and Adolescent group psychotherapy, DBT, EMDR, play therapy, family therapy and Psychodrama.
